Children: Lucas (20m) & Lincoln (newborn)
Default Back to the Potty

Okay so after our last attempt 2 months ago ish? Lucas & I are going to give potty training another try because he's once again removing wet diapers, telling me he has to go, and showing allot of interest in the potty.

We had a good attempt before nap time today because he tried to take his pants off in front of me so I scooped him up and popped him on the potty. We were singing & reading and having lots of fun, but the same issue came up.

Just at that very second when he's going to actually Pee, this look of panic comes over him & he demands to get down and the pee just sucks right back into him and we have to start again. He has no issue peeing on the floor! Why won't he go in the potty??

If I could just get him to go ONCE I know he'd get it. :x Pump him full of juice right before his nap then wake him up early & plunk him on the potty before he knows whats happening?

*sigh*

I know he's still really young & I still have no particular interest in potty training him right now unless he wants too; but he really hates being wet & is SO good at staying dry. Trust me, I'd rather have two kids in diapers then lots of accidents to clean up - potty training Lucas is NOT going to make my life easier! However, I really like to encourage him when he shows interest in new things.

Edit

Well we had a small lightbulb go off his evening (more of an LED) he was refusing to let me put a diaper on him (and I don't chase unless he's got something dangerous, I hate that he thinks that's a game!) and everything was fine until he belly-flopped onto a chair and something fell out...

I rushed him to the potty, got daddy to sit with him and then went to clean up. I put the poop INTO the potty (we're using the potty-cup now too which seems to helping, but it's still ON the toilet) and Lucas kept looking from me to the potty. So, like I said, LED...
