My daughter's dad (my bf) stays gone alot,I think it has something to do with him not being able to deal with pressure etc, and he also dont like being in the house,he's an out doorsman, but anyways she starts acting out really bad (she's 18 months old) when he's not here and all I hear is dada and bye bye,I have tried everything I can think of to get her to be happy & to get her mind of of him a lil more! But nothing helps! I feel like she doesn't want to be around me at all bc no matter what I have tried she still acts out and then acts like I'm being mean (she says"mean to me mommy") all of the time but how am I suppose to displine her without her calling me mean mommy? What am I doing wrong? She throws tantrums, when I fix her something to eat she will take a couple of bites if that and then will look right at me and then throw it on the floor! She will hit me and fight me etc and I just don't know what it is that I'm doing wrong? Please help!!!

Sorry, I don't know how to handle that situation, but hopefully someone here with a little older child can help! I've heard of the terrible 2s... maybe she hit that point early?

I believe that this behavior can be quite acceptable only for those parents who are poorly engaged in the upbringing of their children, and also give them to incompetent caregivers in daycares. I searched for a very long time on the Internet for a good daycare and after several weeks of calling various organizations, I managed to find the Little Scholars daycare center. This is probably the best thing I found in NYC. I think that you should communicate more with children and read more literature on the subject of parenting.
