    Gluten Allergy. (Not Celiac)...

Now I'm more confused than when I started. But I'm pretty possative it's just an allergy... Um. I guess I'll ask Lyr's Pediatrician more about it next visit. Because I attempted some online research the other day and everything is contrary to everything else. So. I don't know.

    Graduated!...

That's right! I'm finally out of high school. Actually, graduation was about a month ago, but I've been really preoccupied. I'm officailly working from 9 AM to 5 PM as a receptionist. The pay sucks, but it's WAY better than waiting! I'm going to work for a year to help with my money situation...

    Gluten Allergy. (Not Celiac)...

Well Celiac and an Allergy to Gluten are VERY similar. It's the same thing except that with Celiac you truly CAN'T eat ANY Gluten. With the allergy you'll just experience REALLY bad discomfort. And in large amounts it could be very dangerous. But Celiac is a more severe situation. I'm sorry...

    Gluten Allergy. (Not Celiac)...

Why thank you. We tried to give her a name she could feel comfortable in. She's like the lyrics to my song... It wouldn't be right without her.

    Gluten Allergy. (Not Celiac)...

<r><FONT font="Calibri"><s></s>I’ve just been keeping her on a Celiac diet. She breaks out in a rash or has sever discomfort if she consumes any Gluten. But Lyr’s been testing several times for Celiac. So I’m pretty certain we’ve just got the allergy to deal with. We had...

    Identity...

That's devestating. I wish I could still believe life was like a frolick in the evening through a poppy field... or a picnic undisturbed my ants. But instead I have to grow up, get over myself and be an adult. Good job with handeling the situation. I hope I can do as well when Lyr starts asking...

    Gluten Allergy. (Not Celiac)...

Lyric is (as some of you know) allergic to Gluten. Her allergy to gluten is like an allergy to peanuts. Not an actualy disease like Celiac. With Celiac you have to cut <I>all</I> gluten from the diet or you'll probably face near-fatal concequences. Lyr is just allergic. But her allergy is pretty...

    Body Image...

Hmmm. Tonight is just <I>filled</I> with shocking realizations for me. Realizing that Lyr will want to know her background sooner or later, and that in this day and age my daughter runs a high risk of obesity... But <I>now</I> I've realized that I'm a single father who's going to have to help...

Medicating Children to control their behavior....

I wouldn't go so far as to say that. When I was younger, doctors changed my diet, exercize, had me attending therapy and anger managment as well as keeping journals, daily acounts of what had happened. I tried natrual remedies, I went to several different school for kids with specail needs...

    Identity...

That really is an amazing story... This thread makes me think a lot. Pretty soon Lyric will realize that most of her playmates have two parents. And she'll wonder about her mother. Talking about this is hard on me. But I've come to understand that I need to know how to tell my daughter that her...

    Robbing the Cradle...

*Agrees* Wow. Reading something like this just pisses me off. I'm a senior in high school, and generally you mix and match with various grade levels. But I would never think of having a sexual relationship with one of my Freshman friends. Because #1, I'm graduating, heading off to college, and...

If you could teach your kiddo.......

Yeah, that's actually a really cool little article thing. We read it in AP English. Not as an assignment, just because our teacher thought it was interesting. But the one thing I hope Lyric will learn is that I will love her unconditionally every single day of her life.

    Names and Why?...

Lyric Blue. We just wanted her to have an origional name that meant something to both of us. Music is very important in my life... and was a big part of her's as well. Blue? We just thought it sounded absolutely beautiful. Lyric Blue. It just seemed to flow like nothing else we could ever think...
