Should I hold back on certain topics?...

I have a 3.5 year old DD, and it seems like that may have been a bit too detailed. I know my DD is pretty sensitive and having that much information would really bother her.

    Imaginary friends?...

Anyone else's toddlers have imaginary friends? Mine's friend is becoming a more common fixture in the house. Stories about "janna" abound these days!

    My kid's teacher says......

I'm a little late to the party, but WOW! Congratulations! That is one smarty mcsmart pants!

    Newest member of the family...

Oh my gosh he is cuuute! But I still really want a kitty. DH the pet-hater still says no.

Defending yourself or tit for tat?...

I would fully support that. That was always the case in my house, too, though not expressed in so many words. Luckily, I never really got picked on.

    Heat sickness?...

Glad to hear she is doing fine. I also don't think it's anything heat related, just a coincidence. Sounds more like she was fighting something.

    Restless leg syndrome??...

It sounds to me like typical toddler stalling behavior. However, I will say that I got RLS with both pregnancies and it is MADDENING. Sometimes the only way I could fall asleep was if my husband rubbed my legs until I passed out. If you really believe he has it, have him checked out. I also...

Kid in my family being mean to DS...

I agree with this wholeheartedly. There are a couple of general rules I follow in life... when you're in MY house, it's my rules, and when you are dealing with MY kid, I am always allowed to insert my opinion. (This will change as they age and no longer need mommy the protector, obviously, but...

    thought this was cool...

That is AWESOME! And she is a beautiful little girl, too!

    Only children...

That funny because I am also an only (now have 5 stepbrothers, but they only came along when I was 20, so it doesn't count!) and I am the opposite of you. I'm the one likely to blow up and then, having said my piece, feel better and I'm ready to love you again! However, I will second that...

    A little advice about visitation......

As a child of divorced parents, I wouldn't force him to do it. My mom used to make me spend time with my dad and I hated it. I just wanted to be with HER. I felt like I didn't know my dad and I was uncomfortable. If you all can slowly foster a better relationship through joint holidays or...

    Anyone work from home?...

Ditto that! I work from home and outside the home. I also am enrolled in college- online courses only. I have a legit website that I use to pick up occasional freelance projects from home. I'll send you a private message.

    Worst MOM EVER!...

Good for you for trying to learn how to communicate with your tween! And, FTR, my mom said that to me a few times as a teen, and we're still as close as ever. :) No long term damage done, mom.

    Babysitter resources...

I have looked at Sittercity several times and I love the fact that they have background checks. The drawback for me is paying for the service. We're trying to build relationships at church in the hopes that we'll find some teenagers who can do the occasional 3 hour "shift" while the hubs and I...

    excessive birthday celebrations?...

I think the first few birthdays are totally for the parents! I go all out for first birthdays, and it's alllll about me. But I mean that in a good way. The party is all about the kid, but setting it up and choosing the colors and just the right outfit for her so everyone can see that she's...
