    With the 2 year old, just join in and play with her with the toys she likes. Play with alphabet blocks or other toys that help her learn, or just play doll house. With the older ones, simple, ask them what they would like to do. Tell them you love them and want to be more involved and ask them...

    I would say just let your daughter know that she might have fun playing and can come to you if there is a problem, but that ultimately the choice is hers.

    The dim sims look good. I never do much decorating, even though it's generally a big thing around here. I don't really have anyone to celebrate Christmas with, so it's no big day to me. I do home renovations, still, and a couple years ago I did a job that I'll never forget, and never do again...

    A friend of mine had a baby girl Nov 3 and they were both happy, anxious, nervous, and scared. They now have a healthy baby girl, and are both exhausted but happy.

    Sounds like me a long time ago. I learned that you don't need to go overboard for kids to feel welcome, and it's never too late to learn.

    Do you give them too much freedom at the beginning? I learned long ago that it's nice to do what makes kids like you, but if you don't show them you're the adult from the beginning, they don't accept it so easily later.

    I think that's one of the main issues, what kind of homework. Homework well planed out can be beneficial, while the wrong homework can just be detrimental.
