Hey everyone. I could use some advice on making diaper changing time easier. My 19 month old little boy does not ever want to hold still for a diaper change unless he is sleepy. I often have to lay him between my legs to deter him from getting up and moving away from me. Sometimes it helps to give him something to hold but that doesn't always work. Do you have any other advice? I've also tried talking to him and making silly faces at him and such to entertain him while I change his diaper. We'll begin potty training him when he turns 2.

I've seen kids that took two adults to change so I hear what your saying!

Some change tables have a safety strap - putting this over some kids seems to help (probably reminds them of a carseat).

You could also try music - not all kids respond but some do.

A more long term option is to refocus on the eat-play-sleep routine. If you can get this going then you should be able to change the diaper between play and sleep when the baby is getting drowsy.

Playing a game with babies feet (ex Patty Cake) may allow you to get a quick break.

Good luck!

Diaper change can be stressful for new parents so always a=have a diaper rash cream handy along with cornstarch based powder it helps the whole diaper changing process so much easier, I love the moms co diaper rash cream and talc free powder for babies , they are safe and toxin free which is the best thing.
