Does he or she have any teeth yet? I'd start with bananas and I think there's step 1 and step 2 baby foods you could try (I'd try pureed pears or peas).

Yes. And I guess that is why the doctor said I should introduce oatmeal and other Step 1/2 foods. But it wasn't working and I became very anxious as I was exhausted. But a few weeks later, I got the feeding guides (for 3-6 months and 6-9 months) from little chompions. I read the guides and tips, had a consultation with the speech therapist (really 2 sessions as she called me back to watch me again and provide tips), and unbelievably feeding is now fun though very messy. The chompions kits/guides are amazing but the therapist is even more amazig (though I told her it took me a while to follow up on a friend's recommendation to check out the site as I was searching for littlechampions instead of littlechompions (with an O).

Feeding is now going great (see my prior message(, And since our beautiful baby is now sleeping 6-8 hours - so great. We now wake up before the baby! Miracles. And we're really having fun as family and bonding as we squeal each time a new food is introduced an the baby is so excited too. We don't worry about using forks and spoons as the point we learned in the littlechompions guides/kits was not to "push" utensils. Exploring with finger provides great tactile feedback and smells (of squashed food) encourages exploration. Our baby is told that anything they don't want to each - to just put on the back of their plate (instead of crying or throwing it(, and amazingly that works. I love the guides/kits on littlechompion.com *with two Os). Informative, fun, easy, and the babies learn so much as they explore the foods and realize that no one is going to force them to eat anything! If you try it, let me know what you think. I also bought a consultative session with the pediatric speech pathologist as it was the icing on the cake - her zoom with me make me feel so confident in what I was doing. I don't often feel too confident in many thins as a new mom - but feeding is now by "expertise" (and btw, the feeding have imapcted my baby's sleeping habits. So now I have time to clean the kitchen and do the laundry daily in the evenings. Hurah!

I just received the 9-12 month littlechompions.com guide/kit. Very excited to move to the next stage with introducing additional foods to my 7 months old

During a growth spurt, your baby will likely cluster feed. This means they might want to feed longer and more frequently. The time of day when they feel hungriest might also change. Your night owl might suddenly get hungrier and want several feeds in the evening, going on to sleep longer at night
