    thanks for the replies. maybe it's teething she won't suck, but sort of chew or play with nipple while screeching. ugh - can you say headache?! :arghh: i hadn't heard 8 mos, but at least i can feel ok and not like i am starving the baby by NOT starting her on solids for now. we are travelling...

    i didn't mean to sound like i was recommending formula! just wanted to be clear on that. ;) only if your doctor recommends it because your baby isn't getting enough calories. fenugreek, alfalfa, mother's milk plus caps, etc. can't hurt! (just didn't make a difference for me).

    i'd be worried that the glass would fall and break -- our floors in the whole house are tiled, so every time glass drops it is sure to shatter. Born Free is made from "safe" plastic. i also heard that gerber gentle flow (which i also hear works with avent nipples) is made from safe plastic as well.

    i use Born Free bottles. they were pricey though, but the baby does really well with them and gives me peace of mind that they are pcb free
