    Is it fair?...

I think using a child as leverage is just wrong. You should never keep a child from one of their parents due to a "grudge" or any other reason. That kind of thing angers me.

I really appreciate all of your advice. So how could we substitute the time outs? We use those when he climbs and hits mainly. His climbing as also gone down to almost nothing. But I see your logic and want to learn more about it.

Yes I see the logic or lack of. The soap worked though. We are not perfect parents, never claimed to be. We both work our butts off and try to do the best we can for our children. I have never believed in spanking because in my mind that would teach the child that hitting is a way to...

Let me make one thing clear. We did not make him "Eat Soap" and ingest it. We put a dab of liquid soap on his tongue. After he got a taste of it, he was then allowed to rinse and spit until it was gone. And the "Authoritarian" Approach is the only thing that has worked on this child.

Wow, so much support here! I have to report back to you guys what has happened in the past few days. We started applying a "Time Out" the moment he does something wrong. He hates those. It was tiring and grueling. The first day, we did over 50 of them! I don't know if we are doing this...

Well, I guess my wife did that part correctly. She put him in his time out last night and then went into our room where she cried. My daughter was also crying saying "Daddy, my brother doesn't respect me no matter how nice I am to him". I am so exhausted over this whole situation. Thank you...

Okay, I know the title is a bit dramatic but I seriously feel this way. Last night as I was in "Desperate" mode searching for some good advice from the Gods of Google using the keywords "Evil 2 Year Old", I came across this forum. We have a 2 year old who is hell on wheels. Our 8 year old...

    Exhausted!!...

Twins are absolutely amazing to me. Those pictures are great! Sometimes the wife and I wished we had twins but when we see how hard one at a time is, we think differently. I guess it's what the Genes and Good Lord give us. Anyway, I gotta give you a lot of credit. Stay strong, you will get...

    PLEASE Help is this common?...

</EMOJI> We have the same issue with our 8 year old daughter minus the fit throwing part. She eats like a bird and doesn't want much to do with healthy food. She does loves sweets but we try to give them to her in moderation. And yes, we enjoy baking brownies and what not...

How much video game/tv time is OK for 7 yos?...

I grew up with video games but wasn't allowed to play them unless all of my homework and chores were done. The better grades I got and the better I was at doing my chores, the more game time I got. I was also made to balance game time out with outdoor or physical activity. Looking back on it...

Hello everyone. To be honest, I haven't read over any of the forum yet. Just thought I would jump right in and get things moving. I have a 12 year old son, an 8 year old daughter, and a 2 year old son. The 2 year old is the reason I am here but I can get to that later. Live out West, work...
