Debate is really welcome anywhere on the forum. Threads often take on a life of their own and become debate. This sub-forum mainly exists for threads who's initial purpose is debate.

The guidelines below apply to the forum as a whole but they're probably worth going over since this sub-forum is specifically for debate.

The nature of debate is that people are not always going to agree. Respect eachother's right to disagree and practice tolerance. Personal attacks are not welcome. As personal attacks can be subjective it's necessary for moderators to use their own judgement. If you choose to participate in a debate, be prepared to have your opinions challenged. When possible back up your opinions with facts. If you are unable or unwilling to discuss reasons for your opinions it is probably best not to participate in the discussion.

If you have ideas for this sub-forum or its guidelines, feel free to discuss in this thread. As with the rest of the forum, we can decide as a community how we want this sub-forum to work.
