The University of Exeter’s psychology department are looking for first time mums to take part in a parent survey! See https://tinyurl.com/ExeterParentSurvey

In this two-part study, we wish to find out what helps those who are pregnant with their first child to start thinking of themselves as parents. This will also help us to better understand mental health during pregnancy and after birth. The study is conducted by a team of experts in clinical and social psychology at the University of Exeter, in partnership with Nottingham Trent University and the University of Queensland (study lead: Dr Miriam Koschate-Reis).

The questions will be mostly multiple-choice and take about 35 mins to complete. You will also be asked for access to your recent online forum posts. Suitable candidates will be sent a £30 (about U.S. $41/ Australian $56/ NZ $58/ CAN $52/ €35) shopping voucher for taking part. Eligibility criteria for participants in the study are:

- At least 18 years old

    • 12-24 weeks pregnant
    • In the first pregnancy expected to go to full term
    • Speak English as a first language (incl. as part of being bilingual/multilingual)
- A regular user of an online parenting forum, with a valid username

Please do not take part if you do not meet these criteria as no payment can be made. It is a two-part study. This is the first part - experiences during pregnancy. Participants will be invited to a second part around 3 months after their due date.

We really appreciate your support! Please could you share where you think appropriate. If you have any questions, please get back in touch and we’d be happy to help exeterparentsurvey@gmail.com

Thanks!
