<r><s></s>Really going thru some bad times right now! My ADHD and ODD son was hospitalized for 8 days and just got out Wednesday evening. He returned to school the next day and was overwhelmed and after about an hour the school called for me to come and pick him up. They said he could not be taught. I asked for homework, I brought him home, sat him down and he did three pages while I printed out six more which he did. <e></SIZE></e></SIZE><e></e>
<s></s>’s Services and told them that I was not providing the follow up (Meds) as the behavioral clinic had recommended. <e></SIZE></e></SIZE><e></e>
<s></s>This is after seeing my son for about an hour the mourning after he was released. The school was not provided with any recommendations.<e></SIZE></e></SIZE><e></e>
<s></s>’s service came out and talked to the school who in turn gave them information about his medical history in the behavioral clinic as well as his previous experience in another behavioral clinic and consulting mental health specialist. <e></SIZE></e></SIZE><e></e>
<s></s>’s service to a Monday IEP meeting notice and gave her that as well.<e></SIZE></e></SIZE><e></e>
<s></s>My son needs structure and they cut him back to half days at the beginning of September and now they want to cut him back to two hours a day doing fourth grade work (he’s in the sixth because I held him back last year). <e></SIZE></e></SIZE><e></e>
<s></s>I really need some good advice and prayers for my meeting Monday. Can anyone help?<e></SIZE></e></SIZE><e></e>
<s></s>Thanks in advance, Earl<e></SIZE></e></SIZE><e></e></r>

Dude, Sorry to hear of the crap rolling at you.

Did he turn in his homework? If he didn't or if you have some returned homework bring it to the meeting to establish his ability to perform at that level. Drop the behavioral issue on the school. The school's decisions to alter or de-structure your son's schedule is the source of the behavioral issues. Make the school responsible for that issue.

Are you in compliance with the meds? If you are not, find a way to be in compliance or evidence of trying to comply with the medical obligations.

Good luck.

I've never been faced with anything like this before, so I'm afraid I don't have much to give you. Records are important. Anything you can prove, whether it be making sure he did his school, or took his meds, etc. I wish you the very best.
