CAn you elaborate on the details on why she was banned? I mean we all know she can be aggressive and hostile at times, but were there any certain factors that lead to it?

all I'm going to say is after she choose to ignore several warnings about certain behaviors we decide it would be best to take farther action. The ban is not permanent and she is free to return when it is lifted.

Thanks for the clarification!

Just gonna say that it seems things are changing around here, and not necessarily in a good way. And that's all I have to say about that. :(

just a note , and I dont know any details of "who dun what" ... but I think, as Theresa said... that if "things are changing around here, and not necessarily in a good way" .. I think there needs to be a place or a person that can be used for sounding these thoughts in the name of keeping this board together ... its not secret ... that a few P/Oed people on a board .. and the board dies ...

HW, could you PM the moderators with your specific concerns. We encourage everyone else to do the same.

Thanks.

As a moderator at a different message board for several years, I have to say this board is not nearly as strict. :)

I agree, I like the fact that we don't have to be all lovey dovey, but things around here need to change

The only thing I have issue with on this forum is when personal attacks are made on myself or others. It espeacilly bothers me when its done to a newcomer. Other than that I'm perfectly happy with how things are. I do like how the mods have made an effort to make sure non parental topics are made in the general area.

I think maybe there should be a thread called "Forum Improvements". That way anyone can make a suggestion. The thread is not a place to bash others, jsut a place where people can make comments, agree/disagree with things said and hopefully that way it doesn't have to be secretive (PM's to mods that no one ever see's but the mod's and the people who post them) but objective and visible to everyone.

Just so everyone understands, musicmom was asked many times to stop and she refused, so she was banned. Personal attacks and baiting others is not allowed, she clearly knows that. Musicmom has a very long history of attacking others when she does not agree with them.

As often happens in on-line forums a small few regular members feel that forum rules only apply to new or infrequent members, but not themselves. In recent months this forum has experienced this type of problem and the moderators needed to take action. We understand that this does make us seem like we are picking on the friends of others, but forums can quickly spin out of control if small fires are not dealt with.

Existing members influence new members, and if existing members are permitted attack & bait others, post porn, use foul language, etc, then new members follow in their footsteps or they leave never to return because they don't like how the forum is managed.

This is a parenting forum formost and we want to attract other parents to come here, and to do so we need to have a forum that is friendly and safe.

I think my post was misunderstood .. as far as issues go around here ...I have none ... Ive had my go-rounds with some on this board and its just another day to me..

What my point was.. is the vagueness... "things gotta change around here" ... "things are changing for the better/worse" .. etc

Be specific .. instead of saying .. "things" need to change ... say what those "things" are.

EG - jtee... if I think your being abusive or your powers as a moderator.. then I think a post in general threads say... heading of "COMPLAINT" ... and my spelling out why I feel your being an asshole (this is just an example) and what I feel the solution is.

Short of being totally abusive, I think that should be allowed...

or ... have a section titled "Flame Wars" .. and if Music dad and I wanna go in there and call each other assholes over whatever topic .. then we can ... its an enter at your own risk area ... and threads are deleted say every 5 days .. or every sunday night... this way it helps to vent.. but by deleting them, its not something that people will look at time and time again and rehash old emotions .. because that thread is deleted
