POLL - Play Dates - Does age matter?

Would you let a 6 year old play (hang out) with a 10 year old? Do you prefer to keep a certain age range for playdates for your children?

My husband and I have differing opinions, and I'm curious what the majority says. I'm reaching out to numerous mommy groups to see what the majority says?

While I think that's a pretty big age difference and the 10 y/o will probably be bored by the 6 y/o or want to boss them around I do think if they spend enough time together they'll have something in common to do (thinking neighbors, family, close friends that are like family, etc). But if this is intended to be a one and done deal then I think trying to get the ages closer would be better.
