hello - first time poster here... i am the mom to a 17 y/o boy and 15 y/o girl this incident less involves them and more so involves our neighbors son who is the same age as my son. the two used to be good friends but as time went on they went there separate ways as kids often do. yesterday i saw this boy while i was getting my groceries out of the car and i asked him how things were he was very friendly and we had a nice conversation up until i asked if he had met my sons girlfriend. he laughed and said that my son is "playing with purses" (?) i have no idea what this means nor does my husband i asked my son and he didnt seem to know either. i looked it up online and found nothing - has anyone ever heard of this or think they know what it could mean. i feel like it was meant as something derogatory towards my sons girlfriend. thank you in advance.

Well, the only thing I've found is that "purse" can mean a girls privates, sometimes referring in an exchange of money. I can see three meanings:

1. Hinting your son and his girlfriend are having sex.

2. Hinting that the girlfriend is a hoe.

3. Hinting that your son is seeing multiple girls (hence purseS)

I'd ask. When in doubt, I vote for transparency and invite conversation with my teen where possible. Don't push it though.

"Hey, your friend said something kinda strange about your gf and I don't even know what it means. Everything ok?"

It sends the message... I am here if you ever need to talk. I care about you having healthy relationships.
