What's the deal with tags?...

Does anybody use them? Do they only help search within the forum or do they assist in us being found by search engines? If there is value in using that helps bring people in, I'll try to start using them more, I'm just a bit too antique and not sure what they're used for.

Good question, my uneducated guess is online searching. Many people search by key words. Tags would help.

Tags help with both, actually. I'm not a big tag user myself, but some people are, and they do help keep things organized. If you guys find a good use for them in a post or article then go right ahead and use them.
