look at the "what kids do online" thread in "education" somebody ressurected it and were reminded of the rules, the someone else posted on it and dadu reminded again, and now there's another post. So, is this still an old thread or has itt essentially become "new" again br a preponderance of use....?

thanks Steve, I guess my struggle is, is it "old" because it was started and went stagnant a long time ago, or is it "new" now because so many people want to post on it. I see advising somebody if they are the first poster to an old thread, but once 2 or 3 hhave posted on it, doesn't that kind of make it relevant again? or am I missing the point?

Yes, technically it would. You might just make a suggestion that someone start a new thread on it if they feel the topic is worth resurrecting, but you're closing it due to age.

or take the new posts and create a new thread...I know it seems like a huge pain but my thought is they made the rule for a reason
