Daughter is 15 months old now, and the situation hasn't changed. She doesn't even take a nap alone. Either my wife takes naps with her or on weekdays my in-laws lie down next to her. They usually still carry her around until she falls asleep and sometimes sit down and hold her until she wakes...

By "co-sleeping" I'm not talking about a toddler occasionally sleeping in the parents' bed or a baby sleeping in an attached bassinet. My wife and 1-year-old daughter sleep on a full-size mattress on the floor every single night, literally. There's no room for me either, so I've slept by...

I feel for you. My wife's parents watch our 1-year-old daughter during the week while we work full-time. But even with four caregivers, somehow my wife and I only get a couple of hours of free time in a week. She's a pretty easy kid too, so I don't know.

Our 1-year-old isn't quite ready for an allowance, but in 10 - 15 years we hope to teach her the value of money and make her earn it... clean the transporter pads, reprogram the flying car, typical kid stuff. And if she was a teenager now, we wouldn't spoil her with an unnecessary cell phone...
