This is a simple story I found to be very inspiring, because it paints a picture of how much our attitude means to our children's lives - I hope you just have to click on the link to listen to it:

I posted it on another parenting forum, and people there said it was powerful, so I am passing it along (with permission from the author).

As someone raised in a household where it was waaay more important to be "right" than to be "happy", this story meant a lot to me.

Nice story....I can't say I personally was overly moved by it, but it was a very pleasant story all the same.

I guess it just really got to me, because I remember thinking about how terrible it would be for the mom of the first twin - and then kind of slapping my forehead a minute later.

It is that kind of change in thinking that lets me be... not like my dad.
