Hi, I am a bit worried about my 3 year old daughter who keeps using the names of TV/Cartoon and story book characters in her daily speech for no apparent reason.
Examples:
1. I want to wear Cinderalla's dress and go to a party.

2. I want to cover my self with Iggle Piggle's (In the Night Garden) blanket.

3. I don't want to go out to the park with Little Red Riding Hood.

Is there any reason to worry or is it normal in kids of her age?

There's nothing abnormal about that at all. She's using her imagination and relating it to things of her age level...it's a good thing! :) In fact, you could use it as a life learning lesson. "What do you think that Cinderella would do in this situation?"

I suppose it's her kid-world equivalent to our adult version, where you'd say, I'm going shopping with Danny. For the child Cinderella is as real as Danny is to me. She'll probably grow out of it when she makes real friends her age.

its a good thing your daughter is learning to put these sentences together, she is just acting, its great thing that her speech is good and im sure she will grow out of it sooner or later. though i wouldnt encourage her to watch the simpsons or any of that other crap they have on tv.
