not to be steryotypical but my movie review is from a girls opinion and the movie probably won't be as loved by guys.

this movie came out in 2008 so yeah I'm a little late getting onto it but it isn't a genre that is exactly displayed in the new release section of the video store (Not mine anyway)

i just watched it tonight (full movie is on youtube) and i can't stop thinking about it. it is called Shelter.

it is basically a story about forbidden love. the two main characters fall for each other against all odds and even though everything seems to be working against them they still keep finding ways and reasons to be together.

let me say now it is not for any hardcore christians or whatever because yes it is a story of Gay love. but it is a beautiful love story please if you get a chance do your self a favour and watch this amazing movie.

WARNNG- Gay kiss in trailer, don't watch if it offends you

Thanks for the heads up! When I saw you posted, I was like, "How does she find time to watch a movie?" :D I haven't seen a grown up movie in a long long time. I get 'me' time in the early morning, so no noise for me. Maybe I can sneak this one in at work since it's on YouTube. :D

it is actually now one of my favourite movies. and absolutely my favourite within the gay category.

i never really got into the brokeback mountain thing. i mean it was an excellent movie, the acting was fantastic but ennis was such a depressing character. he was miserable and he wouldn't accept the true love that was right in front of him until it was too late. i prefer happy ending movies

gay kiss is interesting but not to everybody.. without having to watch the movie, it reminds me of brokeback mountain..i hope it's not "almost the same" with that movie.

I would say I'd watch it, but I haven't seen a film that isn't fit for preschooler eyes in about 4 years, since my now preschooler was old enough to focus on the TV.

As for it being a "gay" movie, that wouldn't bother me, though I'm not much for watching anyone kissing or getting into heavy petting, regardless of their gender mix. But I will say that I tried to watch Brokeback Mountain and had to stop at the first sex scene. I was offended that the relationship was not even remotely developed and suddenly they were jumping each other's bones. It was like bad porn - not the sex scene itself, but how it was developed. That's as far as I watched and then I decided it was the emporer's new clothes.

Love stories I like. I don't think I'd care if they are gay, hetero, or bi, though the bi thing just smacks of infidelity to me. But a love story to me has almost nothing to do with sex. That comes after the falling in love.

That must be one of the best movies EVER made.

Scary in a way, but awesome. Brilliant ending. I've been listening to the credit-song for the last few weeks. For some inexplicable reason it just makes me feel so freaking happy! :p
