chloe's dry night...

this is big for us b/c usually chloe has a full pull-up each morning and hardly ever has a dry one. she still wears them. its not b/c we're lazy or nothing but she hasn't really gotten control of things at night and doesn't wake up. we do the "go potty before bed time" stuff which hasn't made much of a difference. the specialist told me last summer that her bed-wetting is due to the sleep apnea' cause she's tired from the s.a. so she doesn't stir enough to go potty in the middle of the night. .
anyways, we had a late supper--nearly bedtime. chloe didn't get a whole bunch of stuff to drink after all was done.
well she got up this morning with a nearly completely dry pull-up.

this makes me want to try a different routine. maybe the bed-wetting isn't mostly due to the sleep apnea. maybe she's just getting too much to drink before she goes to bed. she's always thirsty so we can't really say no. but we do know that some of that thirst is also a stall tactic to avoid going to bed 'cause she pulls it every night. lol
also, she and emmy were better behaved last night except for that little bit of soda they had gotten into. :twitcy:

hmmmm, that's very interesting...

We have a similar situation (albeit with a 3 yo) he's all potty trained except at night, and he'll go two mornings dry and then fully wet a pullup one morning and it doesn't seem to matter much how much we restrict fluids/stress going before bedtime....and the interesting connection is that he has had a drooling problem and he sometimes snore, so we're lining up going to the ent to talk about apnea/potentially removing adenoids and tonsils because the GP told us the space at the back of his mouth was really small and that might be what's causing the excessive drooling....

thanks, this gives me more than just wondering if it's medical or just habits....

oh, and congrats, every dry morning is a cause for celebration.

if he does a sleep test he may have fun. the tech let chloe help put on the wires and gave her a treat. she also giggled a lot after getting used to the tech. she looked something like that needle dude in the horror movies but with wires. lol i was more scared than she was. we're still trying to get chloe's tonsils out. b/c of all the probls. we've had these last few months she hasn't even been in to see the ent yet. so we don't know anything else about what will happen with her s.a. we have plenty appointments ahead after they're gone.

so he doesn't have the big tonsils?

I think we're probably going to pursue the tonsils first and see if that affects any sleep apnea symptoms and go from there, or at least we're going to start with the ENT and see where he takes us.
