I always include my only daughter when it comes to our mini vacations, just weekends away.

But I have plans to go by my self this weekend without her and I am feeling a bit guilty.

Do you go without your kids? I think it might be a good idea to have some me time and adult time! I think it might do us good.

I will plan something for us another time!

Thoughts???

Absolutely. You HAVE to have time away from the kids to keep your sanity. Do not feel guilty about it...get away and enjoy your alone time!

Nothing wrong with that!! Getting time away, and time for yourself once in a while is nothing but healthy for you. :) Everyone should do it from time to time!

My hubby and I don't take a mini vacation without the kids, but we do get a night here and there with no children when they go spend the night at grandparents house.:D It is awesome to have some down time. It is good for both parents and the children I think. If you can arrange it, then I think you should go for it.

I am so going. Tomorrow, leaving for Palm Springs!! It was hard for me as I NEVER go anywhere without my Daughter. I feel like she is missing out if I do. But it is time to start doing things and it will be good for both of us.

Plus she gets extra time with her daddy!

See you next week!;)

Hope you have a great time!!! It will be good for all of you. Time away is important not only for you, but for your daughter as well. You can't always be there for her...so it's good she learns how to deal with it a little bit at a time.

I would KILL to get away right now. I am so stressed out and I can't focus. I considered locking my entire family in the shed for a couple of days so I could have some time for myself without leaving home, but I decided that wouldn't be too nice. ;)

Have fun!!!!

About one or two weekends a month my daughter's grandmother (not my mother, but my ex-wife's mother) will want to have her over for a few days. I can't say that I ENJOY being without her, but we do take the opportunity to go places that a 4 year old can't, like the casino last time. There's nothing to feel guilty about. Now I don't think I'd go to the Children's Museum and not take her. lol. Everybody needs some `ME' time. Every couple needs some `US' time. Not a thing wrong with that.

I echo what the others say. Go have a good time and try to forget about your daughter the best you can. You will no doubt be missing her by the end of the trip.

This cracked me up because I'm home alone right now and was thinking how nice it is and wondering if I could just lock up the house and "not hear" the family when they try to get in.

I think parent-only getaways are a must. We've never had one. LOL
