My son is almost 3 years old, he recently came to live with me, and we have just started potty training him about a week ago. At first he would go nowhere near his training potty, but we are making progress. Just last night he started coming to me saying daddy, I went potty, and points to his diaper. And hes learning the difference going pee and going poo. Also, last night he sat on the potty with no problems, but didn't go in it.

He's getting there, sounds like he's feeling confident about himself and going potty. lol

That's a big thing when they sit on the potty even if they don't go. He's feeling it out, realizing that 'hey this is cool, nothing bad will happen if I sit here" Eventually he will use it all the time.

Keep up the words of approval, and encouragement. It will happen soon enough.

yep, it's all about when he is ready so if he knows the difference between wet and dry and wee and poo that is a good indication that he is getting ready to be able to use the potty. just keep going the way your going it sounds like your doing everything right to me.
