To get the advantage of cloud backups for my photos while ensuring my family's privacy I have created an app which encrypts your photos before backing up. Encryption is done on your own computer. Nobody else, including the service provider, is able to view the photos.
I am of the opinion that most photos should NOT be shared, no matter how innocent. We will only know the effect of indiscriminate sharing in a few years and today's children are the ones who will pay the most.
