Sorry Kaytee. I've been sick.
The BOB books are little sets of very short books for learning to read. One book will only have about four different letter sounds in it. So if you understand those four sounds, you can sound out all of the book.

It was a long time ago, so I just Googled to make sure they're still around. They have a website http://www.bobbooks.com/.

Think the local library will have these "BOB books"? I'd be interested in trying them out w/ my next two little ones...

It's worth a shot. The only problem may be that the books are flimsy. Almost like a tiny comic book. That might deter libraries. Give them a call though. Good luck.
