We never forced abstinence on our son when he was growing up, we simply told him the facts of life and encouraged him to abstain. All schools here only teach abstinance, and in my opinion that's not a good idea. Yes I know it's my responsibility to teach my children about sex, and I shouldnt leave it up to the school system to teach them. But some parents arent that smart, some kids dont have parents that care enough to do that.
If all you teach your children is abstinance abstinance abstinance, then there is going to be trouble. Believe me, I've been there.
