My teen having sex...

I find it interesting that the OP is worried that they are rushing the sex, but she's 18 and getting married? Seems to me THAT's the more dangerous thing to rush... Aside from that, I'm pretty much on board with NancyM. :)

    Father in need of help...

I suggest you sit down with your fiancee and devise the "rules" that you expect to live by once you have your own place. Write 'em down if you have to. This will give you an opportunity to prove to your fiancee that you want to work with her and support her when you are living together...

Single parents, dating, time and guilt......

It is a bit of a balance. One possibility, of course, is to plan some later evenings. If you have someone you can trust to watch her AFTER bedtime, then you can go out largely guilt-free. Of course, not all women will be open to regular 9:30 dates. :) I'm in the dating world, and I almost NEVER...

    9 yo trumping little brother...

OMG, this is the bane of my existence, only here it's not so much about one-upping as it is CORRECTING each other. Gah. I would suggest you look VERY hard at yourself and your wife. When you pay attention, it's sometimes SHOCKING how much negative feedback or correction we give our kids. But...

    a little "catch-up" on me...

Oh, I'm a HUGE proponent of the "small-sided games." (We play 8v8 outdoor.) I just really agree that at this age, you want the kids to touch the ball as much as possible, and 11-v-11 doesn't do that. Kids can "hide" in 11-v-11 very easily. I really don't think playing small-sided games hurts...

    a little "catch-up" on me...

I can't tell you how fun it has been to watch as my son's team gets better and better. Watching them when they start to "get" certain concepts is sooo rewarding. Here's a video of my son's team: <YOUTUBE id="OOZaNY5mtzU"...

    a little "catch-up" on me...

Well, being in Philly, we enjoy supporting the new Union team. Apart from that, I don't follow the international scene a ton, but I have friends in Germany, so I kinda like teams like St. Pauli and Hamburg in the Bundeslige...

    a little "catch-up" on me...

IADad, Totally with you on all of this. I coach my son's travel soccer team (he's 10), so we're all soccer, all the time. I played growing up, and I adore the sport. To me, for kids, it's SOOOO much better than many of the alternatives, because they all RUN and are all INVOLVED. I love the...

    Oh, how I hate......

...waiting for test results. Medical ones, specifically. The kind that can have an impact on your life. Ugh. Kinda freaked out. :(

Young adults with little interest in opposite sex....

It's the nature of parents to be worried about their kids. 90% of the parents out there would love to be in your shoes, rather than worrying about whether their 14-yo girl is sexually active. Is it "out of line"? Maybe. Not quite sure. That's a strong way of wording it. I guess, I don't think...
